Past Perfect Privacy Notice
How Past Perfect handles your photos and limited diagnostic data on Mac, iPhone and iPad.

Photos and local processing
Past Perfect is a photo editor for digital shots, family photos and everyday pictures on Mac, iPhone and iPad. Core features — including adjustments, profiles, face restoration, denoise, cutout and upscaling — run entirely on your device.
- Photos, edits and exports remain under your control on local storage you choose.
- We do not operate a Past Perfect cloud photo library or account system.
- An internet connection is not required for normal editing. Network access is mainly needed to download or update the app, and for optional crash reporting if a failure occurs.
Crash diagnostics (Sentry)
To find and fix crashes, Past Perfect may send diagnostic reports to Sentry (a crash-reporting service) when the app fails or encounters a serious error.
Depending on the report, this may include technical information such as:
- device model and operating system version,
- app version and build number,
- crash time and stack traces / error details,
- and, where enabled by the crash SDK configuration, an IP address associated with the report.
These reports are used solely to maintain and improve the reliability of Past Perfect. They are not intended to include your photos or the contents of your photo library.
What we do not collect
- We do not upload your images for cloud AI processing.
- We do not build advertising profiles from your photo library.
- We do not sell personal data.
- Aside from crash diagnostics described above, we do not use additional analytics or advertising SDKs in Past Perfect.
Third parties
Crash diagnostics are processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc. / Sentry). Sentry acts as a processor for technical error reports. Please also review Sentry’s own privacy documentation for details of their service.
App distribution platforms (such as the Mac App Store and the App Store for iPhone and iPad) may process purchase, download and device information under their own terms. That processing is separate from Past Perfect’s on-device editing.
Retention
Photos and edit data remain on your device until you delete or overwrite them. Crash reports are retained only as long as needed to investigate issues and improve the app, subject to Sentry’s retention settings and our operational needs.
Your choices and rights
Because photo editing is local, you control your image files directly on your device. If you have questions about crash diagnostics, want information about data we may hold in error reports, or wish to exercise applicable privacy rights, contact us using the address below. We will respond as required by applicable law.
Changes
We may update this notice if the app’s features or diagnostic practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised when that happens.
